Nov 12, 2018 BGVP does not differentiate their products too much using packaging – in fact it is identical for all of their products I tried so far. So the BGVP DM6 come in a cardboard box that holds the earpieces, the cable, a small brush to clean the earphones and several pairs of eartips (one foam, three soft black silicone, three silicone with harder inner bore). Find out the differences between Closed back vs. open back headphones!
The T5p’s are portable in the sense that you can plug them into pretty much anything and get a great sound. They are however a bit on the clunky side and thus are a bit harder to carry around. The ear cups are made of real leather, as well as the headband. The drivers inside the ear cups are also angled, so an accurate fit on your dome piece is a must. If these aren’t situated on your melon correctly, the sound will be affected in some way, as well as the comfort level. It only takes a small bit of adjusting to get it right, So don’t fret Padawan!
- Very good build quality. durable and sturdy
- good isolation, blocks out a lot of sound
- bass is tight, has impact, and is clear and precise. It’s more quality then quantity.
- crisp, clear high end, and a great mid-range
- nice aluminum carrying case included.
- good comfortable clamping force on headphone, very flexible and adjustable
- extremely comfortable
- the bass, while really good, can be a bit lacking in some really low frequencies. Some think there isn’t quite enough of it.
- a bit bulky/heavy for on the go use
These don’t require an amp, but I have read that they do really well with the portable FiiO E17.
- gamers
- people on the go
- mobile users who are looking for high end equipment
- classical and jazz listeners
Tin T2 Vs Bgvp Dmg 4
Those looking for an amazing quality sounding headphone for use with any device will be really satisfied. The bass to some is a bit lacking, and they are a little on the bulky side for carrying around. If you can deal with these shortcomings, then they may be right for you..
The sound has such an immense depth to it, that most other headphones in the Beyerdynamic line will sound “useless” to you, according to a Head Fi reviewer. If you’re looking for amazing, on the go sound, and don’t mind the extra weight, then check these out!
Onto..

Some people consider these the finest dynamic headphones on the planet. They are very natural sounding, open, and airy. They are also very neutral, and transparent, and only fall behind the HD 800’s in terms of sound-stage realism.
Check out my Sennheiser HD 800 review!!
As for the T1’s, they have an amazing smoothness about them as well as a realistic bass frequency. They simply make music sound natural and have a really nice flow to them, without being colored or artificial.
- tight, realistic sounding bass response. clean and punchy
- unbelievably enjoyable to listen to, even being as neutral as it gets in regard to sound
- really really comfortable, again a standard with Beyer products
- versatile with many genres of music
- design is clean and functional, yet attractive
- angled drivers (inside the headphones) make for a more natural presentation of sound, imaging, and staging
- mid-range is smooth and clean with exceptional detail
- sound-stage is incredible. one reviewer noted that with some songs, as soon as he put his headphones on and pressed play, the sound seemed as though it was coming from his speakers. Even though he knew it wasn’t, he still had to take the cans off and check to make sure. It won’t happen with every recording, but it gives you a sense of how good the staging is.
- adjustment mechanism of the head-band is a bit imprecise
- treble presentation has been called “debatable”. There is a bit of a spike at 8-9 kHz, but some say this is the source of their magic.
- a bit heavy, with underwhelming cable that isn’t as nice as the rest of the headphone
- needs pretty beefy amplification to power correctly
Check out the review!!
Being 600 Ohm, you will definitely want to invest in a proper amp/DAC to power these bad boys. Some good recommendations would be:
- Schiit Valhalla
- Woo Audio WA3.
- HIFI-M8
- people who want an enjoyable and lush listening experience, but one that is also neutral
- people who want a versatile headphone that excels with many different types of music, from Pink Floyd to Beethoven. This model handles them all!
- musicians and producers who require a headphone best suited for mixing/mastering and reference in general. These are best for critical applications
- people who want a great sound-stage, and the ability to pick out where a musician is standing in relation to them. What is Soundstage?
An amazing sounding can given proper amplification, and proves extremely versatile with a wide variety of musical genres. From Pink Floyd to Beethoven, these can handle most anything you throw at them.
The T1’s are an amazing set of reference cans that excel with many different genres of music. You really can’t go wrong if you value sound-stage, neutrality, and a lush listening experience!
Similarities
Tin T2 Vs Bgvp Dmg 8
- The bass frequencies are somewhat similar. You aren’t going to be overpowered by either of them, but they are both tight and controlled.
- Both have the same frequency response at 5-50000 Hz.
- Both have Circumaural (around the ear) design.
Differences
- The T5p has an impedance of 32 Ohm, the T1 sports a 600 Ohm. It pretty much requires an amp, where as the T5p does not.
- The T1 does a better job of recreating stage depth and generally does better with sound-stage/making you feel as if you’re there with the band, and can point out specifically where musicians are on stage. The T5p on the other hand is a closed back model so the sound stays inside your head mostly.
- The T1 has a little more bass/low end than the T5p, but not by leaps and bounds.
- The T1 is a bit more versatile and can handle many different genres of music, while the T5p does not. It does best with classical and jazz applications.
- The T5p is closed back while the T1 is open.
- The T5p has components made of leather, while the T1’s use velour.
It really depends on what you’re going for.
If you want to be able to just plug and play, and get that amazing sound, go with the T5p’s. They are more suited for portable use with any mobile device you may have.
Do you want a headphone that requires an amp and is super versatile in terms of genre? You may think about getting the T1’s.
Well that’s about it for today folks! I hope I’ve shed some light on the differences between the Beyerdynamic T1 vs. T5p, and helped clarify certain aspects of both.
